Broken

Living here on pain and fear
not letting anyone too near
because you are so broken.

But everyone is broken somehow
just never the same way
but you need to let go now
and see that people can love you
and survive.

So dense are the walls
you put around your heart
that you think if you loose them
your world will fall apart
but it won't.

I call l you an idiot and a fool
but it's just because I see
the scared kid who wants to be cool
shrinking back from me
sometimes.

But I'm not going anywhere.
and yes, I love you anyway.

Party

  • Aug. 22nd, 2010 at 5:21 AM
Scot Flag
Seems like a good party- folks sleeping in most of the house and not too much food left over. Even the haggis was a hit.

Feeling really old tho. Too old for this hour but I will survive.  Do still wish I was in Scotland tho. Now more than ever....

Court Curious No More

I have never done full court dress to a Faire in my life so I wanted to see what it was like. My Roomie Dearest loaned me a Pendragon Extraordinaire and I gave it a whirl.

Too long to dress, got warm fast, I forgot how to walk in a hoop skirt, knocked over baskets and tip jars by the score... but it was very pretty.

I have done court & now I go back to comfy clothes again.

Getting Ready & A Warning

Scarby 09
With the acquisition of a two more pieces from Damsel  I am getting ready for Scarby slowly.  We even picked up a few things for S for the first time in years.  ;D

I have made a decision about opening weekend.  S is working Saturday for the Chain Malle folks so I'll wait to go til Sunday with him but....

First Sunday I will do something I have never done before. It will be an eye opener I think but I hope it will also be fun. We'll see.

How I Spent My Saturday Morning

  • Mar. 14th, 2010 at 12:34 AM
Dancing Bear
It was chilly this am. We got to staging at 9:30, lined up at 11 and rolled around noon.  Talk about controlled chaos.... We threw beads and jalapeno peppers with stickers on them for free margaritas.

If you've never been in a parade the crowds and the racket can be overwhelming. (I heard there were 80K people there today.)  If you've never been in a horse drawn wagon that stops and starts with jarring regularity you don't know from sore.  It was great fun but my shoulders ache and my right knee is back and blue.

But it was totally worth it when I saw my little Rhett's face in the crowd grinning from ear to ear. I could not throw to him as he was just too far for me but it was clear he was having a blast. So were we. It was great when he saw me and started waving like a crazy man. Too freaking cute.

P.S. My Baby Sis took these for us. She is a too talented.

Quite a Day

  • Mar. 11th, 2010 at 10:38 PM
Book Bear
I took today off from work to relax and do some recharging   I keep looking at the list I made for Dennis a while ago listing things I truly love to do and coming up with reasons why I can't do them.  Today I did several of them and I am tired but happy.

Started by sleeping in a bit. Nice not to jump up at 6:45 and start running.  Grabbed lunch with Sloth and Woolly before the big afternoon adventure.

This afternoon I took my Sloth to see Phantom. It was such fun to watch her eyes get big and round as the chandelier began to blink and rise above us. Our seats were amazing and the cast quite good.  I had almost forgotten how complex the staging is and how intricate the music weaves together in places.  It was just bliss.

On the way home I got a call from  J at Desperado's- guess who won the raffle to ride on their float Saturday for the St Patty's day parade.  We'll be sporting sombreros and gun belts and tossing green beads to folks all the way up Greenville Avenue.  That will be great fun.

Tonight I got to see Boondock Saints (the first one) on a big screen for the first time. The crowd was interesting and we all really wanted to be there. It was loud and silly and fun and a good time for sure.

Now to bed and back to reality in the am.

Twas a very good day.

I Can Haz New Picture?

Ran to NM today and got my makeup done by a very adept young lady. When I got back my coworker wanted to grab a picture so we did. This one  is the head shot I just submitted to STC for the conference program  in May.

It doesn't suck.

Yeah!!!
